I am free! The Igniting Transformation workshop was so liberating. I have been working with clients for some time now with ever-deepening empathy skills and there often seemed to be something missing. What this workshop brought was it! It allows for empathy to be there, and then creates the tools, skills, and consciousness to move through that opening into helping people get more of what they are wanting – first for me in the workshop, and then to the many I have been able to touch since.
A few days after the workshop I had a conversation with my mother for an hour and a half as I used all of my coaching skills to have one of the more amazing conversations with her in my life! We both left feeling exhilarated, and she left with a new career possibility! Thanks Coaching That Works! - Matthew Blom |

Coaching for Transformation has changed my life. I have learned so much about me for my very first time ever. I love the impact coaching has on my fellow classmates - it was life changing for every single person in the class. Even if you do not plan on becoming a coach, using life coaching is a powerful process that will help you in life. – Jane Hennessy, CPC |

If you are meant to be a coach, this course will support that better than anything else I can imagine. If you are not meant to be a coach but remain open, this course will support you to step more fully into yourself and bring that out into your community. The leaders provided a magic that allowed me to step into coach shoes and into community with one another. Now I see that I don’t have to build and live my professional life (oh, all right, and my personal life) alone. I can create space for whatever clients bring, then hold it up and turn it to reveal all sides with curiosity and not judgment. I can give my clients keys to the doors into themselves and then afterward let them keep the keys! – Jim Soviero, CPC |

This class has been so motivating and wonderful! Even though I am in a war zone and living with the fact that my mistakes could cost someone their life; this class allowed me to reflect on me and gave me personal time with myself, taking me out of war for a moment. I am extremely pleased with what I have learned in this class. My instructor was so understanding and patient with me during my internet problems from Iraq. – Ebony Thomas |

Creative and caring coaching has enabled me to clarify and articulate issues and identify and move forward with solutions that have resulted in tremendous personal and professional growth during some very challenging times. Whatever the focus for our session - personal, professional, or other - my coach consistently demonstrated tremendous skill and sensitivity in their approach. My coach draws on a varied and substantial ‘toolkit’ - physical, mental, and spiritual - that provides for much more impactful personal insights and outcomes.
As a Director of Human Resources, I am familiar with and utilize a variety of coaching and counseling techniques. I find my coach a role-model to learn from, in addition to a resource to work with. The technique never feels formulaic or the conversation forced, and the outcomes are always mine - qualities that I would associate with a master-level coach. - Tyler Thorpe, Pfizer Global Research & Development |

My coach really helped me to clarify the goals I wanted to reach at work, my interactions with my daughter and family, and my community contributions. I gained clarity about my relationship with my boss and my coach helped me through a number of practice sessions about proposals I wanted to make at work.
At first I was skeptical that coaching would help me understand myself better or would be so applicable to the "corporate enterprise," but, I was proven wrong. It's all about becoming aware and identifying your values. My coach is also a very compassionate person and was just great during some of the very emotional calls (and there were quite a few, I must admit). I am grateful to my coach and recommend coaching highly. - Kathleen Stearns, VP, Human Resources, Millipore Corporation |

My coach has a keen intellect, wonderful sense of humor and much compassion. In working with my coach, I have grown both personally and professionally. On the personal level, coaching has been invaluable in helping me develop skills to deal with issues in raising a blended family. Coaching helped me create positive ways to discuss the issues of discipline, finances and family dynamics with my partner. We now have very real and effective tools to keep us on track as a family.
On a professional level, I am marketing director for a large family business. My coach has helped me be more of an advocate for myself as I negotiate my way through the power struggles inherent in a second generation family business. Thanks to a fabulous and very talented coach, I have made great strides in meeting my goals to live life on a happier, more centered and self actualized path. - Alison A. Banks |

I have made more headway in truly knowing myself, who I am, of what I’m capable, and what I care most about in life than I imagined possible. If there’s a single thing that has had the most impact on me, it is the intuitive depth and sensitivity my coach brings to the process. - Arthur Shirk, President, The Lantogo Group: Organizational Learning & Performance |

My coach listens and takes threads of what is said and synthesizes them into astute questions that help me reformulate the issues. Old blocks disappear and even transform with this insightful guidance. Another strength is the ability to inspire. I find greater meaning in my choices and am pointed toward practical ways to move my inspiration forward. - Marjorie Herman, Associate Professor of Music, Conductor, and Composer |

My goal was to receive a promotion and a sizable raise. At first, I thought this was a “pie in the sky” goal. I am happy to report that I got the promotion and the raise within three months of coaching and concentrated effort. Along the way, I became a stronger person and learned how powerful focused intentions can be. Gretchen Sundarland |

I found more trust in people. Coaching opened up a lot of doors for me and my employees. They run the company now. - Craig Peck, CEO Signature Marketing Group |

I have come to coaching from a practice of Nonviolent Communication and the results have exceeded my expectations. I see myself doing things that seemed outright scary before now and have found a different kind of connection with my long-term goals. Having such a perspective is truly liberating. I am so thrilled with this process that I am continuing it for my own sake and learning to offer it to others. - Luigi Morelli, Whittier, CA |

Coaching helps me step up to the plate and has transformed my life. In our coaching sessions, all of me can show up—not only the polished part. She's straight with me, calls me forth, lifts me up and helps me remember my magnificence. Coaching is powerful, helps me look at the big picture and think about my impact, so that I can go from wish to reality. —Maude Sterling |

At the millennium edge, it is not a luxury—it is a necessity—to be partnered in an unconditional way. Coaching is the only way I know of to get that kind of support. My coach's insights are laser-sharp, yet gentle. She delivers the hard truth with her full humanity. Coaching helps me organize my mind and think through which steps to take so that I can proceed with clarity. —Nancy Lubin |

Since spending a year with Coaching for Transformation I feel that my work with clients is more dynamic and action oriented, while I am still able to be me (warm, loving, patient, supportive) - so these skills that have been refined during this training are now organically in my repertoire.

With scalpel-like incisiveness my coach helps me focus on what is ‘in the way' and what has to happen for me to attain my goals. Our sessions help me prioritize action steps out loud, and she holds me accountable according to my criteria. That includes ample permission to ‘let go' of less important issues, while being positively affirmed in the steps chosen! My coach reminds me how inspiring my life choices are and combines that with superb guidelines for my life ahead. —Michael Koplinka-Loehr, Cornell University |

I am delighted to see empathy integrated into coaching. Before the class, I had not used empathy in coaching because it had not been described in my coach training, discussed in my coaching circles, or documented in my coaching books. From the examples, I quickly realized the importance of empathy in a coach-client relationship. And, throughout the class I focused on empathy first – ensuring that clients' needs for empathy were met before asking them typical coaching questions. I applaud you for your awareness of the need for empathy in coaching and for your desire to develop a network of coaches that use empathy in their practices. – Roger Chapanis, CPC |

As the new CEO of a national nonprofit organization I inherited a network of independent affiliates that did not function as a group and were very used to working by themselves without guidance from the national office. My board of directors, who previously worked with me to run one local affiliate, is heavily represented by the private sector and the cultural differences between the nonprofit network affiliates and private sector board were ready to clash as I tried to rationalize the network.
My board chair is also a particularly demanding individual and, and with the stakes much higher and more visible, his relationship with me became quite contentious. The coaching is enormously helpful as I try to navigate this new responsibility and role.
My coach has been particularly helpful in giving me advice about managing my board. Recently he helped me prepare for an upcoming meeting by helping me anticipate major issues and encouraging me to make a set of pre-emptive calls to strategic board members before the meeting. I didn't even realize how complicated this would be until I had a chance to talk it through and play out scenarios. We then worked out a plan and I made the calls right after the coaching session. The upshot was that the meeting was still a little chaotic but the one board member I asked for help came through nicely.
I believe that professional coaching is one of those “hidden advantages” that managers must have in their arsenal. With the insight of a professional, who can see challenges through the lens of “people as people”, managers can become more effective in their work and more satisfied in their jobs.
I continue to work with my coach and as he comes to know me and the individuals with whom I interface, his insight becomes even sharper and more helpful.—Barb Chang |

I'm now a full-time coach so I think it's fair to say that it's changed my professional life completely. While I entered the program with a few coaching clients, the truth is I was going on intuition, instinct, and my life-experience up to that point. Because of the program, I was able to integrate those things (instinct, intuition, and life experience) with powerful skills and heightened awareness of the way the human heart unfolds to become an excellent coach. Today, I have a thriving practice and work in precisely the way I had hoped...a mix of phone and in-person sessions with some heavy days and some lighter days. It's a successful business and, more important, the fulfillment of my own deepest yearning.
And therein lies the personal life changes. I often speak of my own transformation into a professional life coach as an example of stepping into my "sacred dance." It's rare to find and succeed at doing the thing you were born to do. And I define that as having the honor to hold someone's heart for an hour or so and witness their own transformation and unfolding into a more fully-actualized human.” |

I liked that your program gives us BOTH in person and phone experience. This is one of the reasons I did Coaching for Transformation– the two experiences are SO different that I’m happy to have both under my belt. Also, I liked the continuity – same classmates, same teachers, throughout the program. This made for a wonderful, and safe, learning environment.
I have changed the way I am asking questions, and the way I perceive things. Things that would anger me, now form questions for me, and looking at these questions, I am able to realize “things are not always as they appear.” I’ve gotten to know myself more, what matters to me, and learned how to take care of me.
I coached a colleague recently on something that, 5 years ago, I forcefully TOLD her how to handle over a period of time, but nothing changed. By listening to her deeper needs, SHE came to the realization she needed to take better care of herself, and in 3 short weeks, has completely remodeled herself, and actually willingly making time to do all the stuff I tried to force on her 5 years ago! --Heather Markel |

In a word: wow! My experience with Coaching for Transformation has been, well, transformative. The way in which I work with people and the way I see myself has completely transformed as a result of this course.
I’ve seen such exponential growth in my intuition, awareness of the body, and my ability to see the perfection, elegance and beauty in every situation and in all people no matter their appearance. The skills I learned have shifted the way I interact with my clients, my friends and family and especially myself. Without a doubt, I owe a large part of my success today as a coach to my work with Coaching for Transformation. --John Dulworth |

The supportive community and experiential focus was so valuable. There’s nothing better than learning by doing. There was a tangible sense of non-judgmental, unconditional acceptance, and a holistic approach to human existence taking into account the soul and the spirit as well as the everyday physical reality.
On a professional level, as a psychotherapist, this course has added a new dimension to how I practice, not only in using many of the new skills I’ve learned, but also in how I see my clients as whole and resourceful.
On a personal level, I have my own sense of wholeness and most importantly more self-acceptance. I’m more open with myself, more willing to take risks to put myself out there, and very excited about that.” --Sharon Taub |
